Carmen
LeBlanc,
April
9, 1939 to Nov. 26, 2009
Carmen
LeBlanc, known lovingly by most as “Memaw”
passed away early on Nov. 26 of 2009, surrounded by family at Tahoe Forest
Hospital. One of her favorite mottos was “It's not the number of years in your
life, but the life in your years!” She was a well-traveled person, was born in
Seattle, Wash. on April 9, 1939; she grew up in Bethel, Conn. and attended BHS.
She moved to Danville, Calif. after high school and attended college, got
married and started a family. She did a number of things in her life for work
and pleasure. She lived in Ventura and worked as a Tupperware Rep. She was also
an office manager for Target, she worked in the medical field, has volunteered
with Lioness, The Truckee Donner Historical Society and wanted to volunteer
with the local Hospice, as she greatly appreciated the care provided for her
late husband, David, and wished to give back to the community. Carmen and David
enjoyed cruises with friends, dancing, camping and golf, to name a few. They
frequented the Truckee/Tahoe area, fell in love with it and moved here in 2005.
Each day here was “Just another day in Paradise.”
Memaw believed that when you trip in life make that part of your dance. Memaw
danced well. She believed in helping others and helped all her children through
various trials and never got weighed down by her own, she loved deeply, and
took the time to enjoy the little things in life. While she will be missed by
many, she wouldn't want time to stand still for her but would want us all to do
the best at what we do, no matter how small or unimportant it may seem. She and
David appreciated each of their children's gifts and talents and encouraged
them, one and all.
Memaw is survived by her brothers: Randolph Linsay of San Ramon and Jeffery
Lindsay of Pine Grove; her sons: Robert Waldron of Truckee and his children,
Martin, Christen and Dylan Waldron of Mariposa; James Waldron of Concord and
his wife Cathy and their children, Christopher James Waldron and his son/great
grandson Gabriel of Tampa and Wendy Arbuckle of Concord; Thomas Waldron of
Tracy; step-children: Thomas LeBlanc of South Carolina and Amanda LeBlanc of
Truckee. Her parents: Robert and Cleo Linsay and husband David LeBlanc preceded
her in death.
There was a Celebration of Life for Carmen on Thursday, Jan. 21 at 2 p.m. at
Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave. Tracy. California. Her ashes will be scattered near Lake Tahoe,
where her husband's were scattered three years prior. In lieu of flowers,
please send donations to: Tahoe Forest Hospice, P.O. Box 2508, Truckee, CA
96161.
