TDHS was founded July 24, 1968 to preserve the history of the Truckee - Donner area.
The Society operates the Old Jail Museum which was built in 1875.
We participate in several Events during the course of the year. Our research historians write articles on the History of Truckee.
We have several books on local Truckee history for sale on our Publications page and we also have pictures of the Truckee - Donner area which can be purchased. Find a sampling of our numerous historic prints on our Photos page. Please take the time to browse both.
If you would like to make a tax free donation to the Society please use the secure Donate payment button. The Truckee Donner Historical Society is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is entirely supported through our membership dues, fundraising events, museum admission donations and private donations.
You can support TDHS by becoming a member! Please go to our Membership page for more information.
